Craig Craig, who appeared on Broadway in the musical ‘Betrayal’ back in 2013, will be returning to the stage for the title role.

Ruth Negga will be making her Broadway debut as Lady Macbeth The actress of ‘Passing’ has played Shakespeare in an production in New York that was based on “Hamlet,” as reported by variety.com.

Daniel Craig recently appeared in “Othello” alongside David Oyelowo.

The Shakespearean drama, one that is a tale of matrimony, malice and even murder. The play tells of the Macbeth couple’s desire for power and their guilt following doing something that was unimaginable.

A press release announcing the show promises “this amazing new production will convey the intensity and passion of Shakespeare’s most haunting play as never before”.

Sam Gold is directing the Scottish production. The production will run for a brief 15-week run.

It’s scheduled to start shows on the 29th of March, 2022 and the first night of performances is scheduled for Saturday, April 28, at the Broadway Lyceum Theatre. Further casting announcements will be made at a later time.

“I am extremely happy to be part of this thrilling season when the theatre comes back, and also to work with two outstanding actors on one of Shakespeare’s most epic and challenging plays,” Gold said. Gold the actor who staged a number of famous Shakespearean productions such as “King Lear” with Glenda Jackson, “Hamlet” starring Oscar Isaac and “Othello” with Daniel Craig.

Gold stated: “I can’t wait to start!”

Barbara Broccoli will produce ‘Macbeth”, reuniting Craig, the veteran James Bond producer with Craig who recently concluded his five-film role as the stylish British spy in the film ‘No Time to Die’.

“Daniel is not just an excellent film actor but also a superb actor in the theatre as well. I am delighted that Daniel will be part of the revival of Broadway in this iconic role with the stunningly gifted Ruth Negga making her Broadway debut, and under the skilled directorship under the direction of Sam Gold,” Broccoli stated in an announcement.
